Kano Pillars Technical Adviser, Ibrahim Musa has said his target ahead the 2017/2018 Nigerian Professional Football League season is to lead the club to win the Aiteo Cup and earn a ticket to play on the continent.
He made this known while speaking to kanopillars.com shortly after his team came from behind to record a 3-1 victory over fellow Northern rivals, El Kanemi Warriors at the ongoing Sharu Inuwa Rabiu Ahlan’s preseason tournament at the Kano Pillars Stadium in Kano.
In a game which the Desert Warriors dominated the first 30 minutes and were rewarded with a goal through Williams Ukeme at the 30th minutes, Junior Lokosa cancelled out the lead with his first touch of the match after just coming on for Nazifi Yahaya to tie the game.
Captain, Rabiu Ali scored a sublime lob from outside the box before Nzube Anaezembe scored the third goal on the 75 minute mark.
The win saw Pillars continue their unbeaten run in preseason after clinching the prestigious Gold Cup a week ago.
Coach Musa believes that there is still room for improvement as he is still working tirelessly to identifying some gray areas in the team.
Musa made only one change to the side that beat NPFL Champions, Plateau United on Friday as Emmanuel Anyawu came in to the side for Steven Eze.
The experienced gaffer promised to give all players equal chances before the end of the preseason so as to assess every ones readiness ahead of the season kickoff in January.
Pillars will on Monday play against Kano Selected, who replaced the NPFL runners up, MFM FC of Lagos by 4:00pm at the famous Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata.
